OUR STORY

Starting out as an assistant costume stylist for box office Bollywood movies, Tanya Jaiswal forayed into the world of fashion and finesse. Along with her stint in the Bollywood bandwagon, Tanya’s work found recognition in other Regional Films, Television Commercials, as well as National Advertisement Campaigns for various international brands.
Tanya’s aplomb and sheer talent brought out the best in her when she moved back to her hometown Kolkata and launched her own label JULY. Her exhibitions in Kolkata and across India were grand successes as her innovative contemporary style and creativity reflected in the  Indo-Modern Wear collections that she designed. Some of her signature designs include colorful motifs, intricate Zari work and hand woven abstract patterns.
July's clothes are a reflection of the dynamic presence a woman can hold today. The idea of space, physical and emotional, is something that each woman creates or surrenders to others over time. For Jaiswal, it became crucial to define the need to hold one’s own and not let go of individual space or identity. To capture that feeling, that freedom to be and not fade into the background is what makes July's collections so special to her.
Carefully treading the fine line between formal and semi-formal, Jaiswal wants women to dress down or dress up with her designs. It’s the versatility of a woman’s spirit that she wants to grasp in her compositions. Her years of dressing up ladies for the screen, reducing their skirt lengths, tightening their corsets to complement the leading men has led her to this moment of proclamation through her latest collections – I am and I cannot be ignored.
